Journalism with iGeneration Youth (High School)
Learn the editorial and business skills you'll need to plan, produce, publish, and promote a story — and yourself — in print and online. In two-hour workshops delivered by veterans of some of the world’s top media organizations, you'll learn how we make the ambitious features we are known for, from straight reporting to comics journalism to news games.
Students who complete the course are invited to, “How to Pitch,” a workshop with current magazine editors who’ll cover the key elements needed to capture an editor’s attention in an easy-to-learn format. We’ll review examples of successful pitches and take a step toward kick-starting your journalism career. We’ll show you how to earn bylines right now and where to get your work published.
Sessions are delivered over live video chat or in person* at iGeneration Youth - Riverfront West, 2545 Railroad Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15222. Sessions comprise four two-hour classes delivered over one month.
A $100 fee payable to iGeneration Youth is due at the first session. All registrations include a membership and subscription to iGeneration Youth magazine.
