Supporting Expansion and Enhancement of K-12 School-Based Social, Emotional Supports (SEEKS SES) is a wide-ranging initiative that supports school districts in addressing social and emotional health and looks to bolster a local pipeline of professionals to supporting fields.
Project SEEKS SES is funded through the Allegheny County Health Department (ACHD) and managed by the AIU. The project supports the participating districts in addressing trauma, behavior and mental health issues that have been exacerbated in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic.
PDE SEL Endorsement Scholarships
We are excited to offer an awesome opportunity through Chatham University, which was made possible by Project SEEKS SES. Chatham will be offering a Social, Emotional and Wellness for Individuals Serving Youth Certificate, which will focus on the social-emotional, behavior and wellness of PK-12 students. More information about the program can be found here.
All courses consist of synchronous and asynchronous (online) learning and culminates with a 70- field-based practicum that can be completed in your classroom. Individuals that hold a Level I or Level II instructional, supervisory, educational specialist, or an administrative certificate will be eligible to apply for the PDE PA Social, Emotional, and Behavioral Wellness of PK-12 Students Endorsement after success completion of the program and may also use the course credits for ACT 48 hours.
Chatham currently has up to 40 scholarships available for this program. Individuals will be responsible for textbooks (there are very few texts required for the program so this cost is minimal). Scholarships are on a first come, first serve basis and are now open to non- SEEKS districts on July 15th. Additionally, individuals must complete a NDS application, which can be viewed here.
