    Summer Institute

    Allegheny Intermediate Unit is a College Board® endorsed provider of our annual Advanced Placement® (AP) Summer Institute.

    Held each summer during the last full week in June, our AP Summer Institute draws educators from across the United States.

    This wonderful professional learning summer institute is facilitated by AP course consultants and subject-matter experts who have a depth of experience and knowledge of AP courses.

    IMPORTANT - Latest News & Information

    Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the College Board is requiring APSI host organizations to modify the
    delivery format for their 2020 AP Summer Institute. 
    AIU's response to this requirement is explained as follows:

    • The four-day, face-to-face APSI has changed to a five-day, virtual APSI during the same week
      that was previously scheduled: Monday - Friday, June 22-26, 2020 from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm daily.
    • Participants must commit and be prepared to participate in synchronous and asynchronous
      workshop instruction and activities throughout the week in order to fulfill the College Board's required
      30 hours of professional development for AP course educators. Pennsylvania educators will receive
      Act 48 hours upon successful completion of their selected 2020 APSI workshop.
    • Our customary workshop fee of $1,000 has been discounted 20% to $800.00 and includes
      all College Board materials shipped directly to your home; and, Learning Management System and
      technology support fees.
