BridgeUp Teach graduates take the next step in their education careers

The AIU is proud to celebrate the achievements of two dedicated educators, Leann Dupree and Taylor Earle, who recently completed their teaching certification journeys through the BridgeUp Teach program. Both graduates were recognized during Point Park University’s 66th Annual Spring Commencement on May 8, 2026, marking a significant milestone in their careers and highlighting the impact of the AIU’s partnership with Point Park University.

BridgeUp Teach creates pathways for paraprofessionals and other school support staff to become certificated teachers while continuing to work in their school settings. The program helps address workforce needs while empowering talented education professionals to advance their careers and expand their impact on students.

After 18 years of service with the AIU, Dupree has transformed her long-standing commitment to student success into a new chapter as a certified teacher. Throughout her career, Dupree has served as a Personal Care Assistant, Head Start Teacher Assistant, and Paraprofessional, gaining valuable experience across a variety of educational settings. Through BridgeUp Teach, she earned her bachelor’s degree in special education and is excited to begin the 2026-2027 school year as a full-time teacher at Pathfinder School. Her achievement reflects not only her dedication to professional growth but also her unwavering commitment to supporting students and families.

For Earle, the journey to the classroom was shaped by more than a decade of experience in behavioral health and education. Prior to joining the Wilkinsburg School District, Earle worked as a residential assistant, therapeutic support staff member, and instructional assistant, experiences that fueled her passion for helping children overcome challenges and achieve success. While working in the district as both a Pre-K teaching assistant and special education paraprofessional, she pursued her teaching certification through BridgeUp Teach. Earle is looking forward to beginning the 2026-2027 school year as a special education teacher in Wilkinsburg, where she will continue supporting students and helping them reach their full potential.

The success of Dupree and Earle exemplifies the mission of BridgeUp Teach: creating opportunities for aspiring educators to grow professionally while strengthening the schools and communities they serve.
