Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is grounded in a strong body of research demonstrating its effectiveness in promoting positive engagement for all students. Additionally, growing evidence supports the benefits of school-wide PBIS for students with significant cognitive disabilities. So how can schools ensure that students with significant cognitive disabilities are meaningfully included in their PBIS framework? This session explores the core elements of school-wide PBIS and offers practical strategies for making each component accessible and inclusive for all learners.
