BridgeUP Teach: A Pathway from Classroom Support to Teacher
The Allegheny Intermediate Unit’s BridgeUP Teach program creates accessible, affordable pathways for school staff to become certified teachers — without leaving the classroom. In partnership with Point Park University and BloomBoard, BridgeUP provides flexible, job-embedded training designed specifically for working professionals in school settings.
Supported by significant public and private investment, BridgeUP is helping school districts across the region strengthen their educator pipeline and build long-term workforce stability.
Limited Time: Free Enrollment Available
The AIU is offering a limited-time opportunity for 15 participants interested in obtaining a bachelor's degree in special education to enroll in the BridgeUP program at no cost. These seats will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
This opportunity is supported through a state Department of Labor Certified Teacher Registered Apprenticeship (CTRA) grant. The funding covers the full cost of the program, resulting in zero expense for both participants and their districts.
To participate, districts must provide a mentor and candidates are required to complete the FAFSA to be eligible.
