Navigating 504s: Building Systems and Procedures as a Team

The Allegheny Intermediate Unit’s Training & Consultation Team is offering two professional learning opportunities designed to strengthen district and building-level implementation of Chapter 15/Section 504 supports.

The first opportunity, Navigating 504s: Building Systems and Procedures as a Team, is a full-day, in-person training designed for school-based teams. Participants will build a shared understanding of legal requirements, eligibility determination, service agreements, accommodations, and LEA responsibilities while developing efficient systems and procedures for implementing and monitoring Section 504 supports.

Required Team Members: District 504 Coordinator and at least one district representative.

Additional Suggested Team Members: Any personnel that writes and our supports students through the Section 504 in the district, including but not limited to: school counselors, school social workers, nurses, building principals, other building level administrators, special education liaisons, and other district level administrators.
