We offer evidence-based professional learning opportunities that equip educators, caregivers, and community partners with the knowledge and skills to support student mental health, strengthen school safety, and foster resilient school communities. From suicide prevention and crisis response to youth mental health and peer leadership, these training opportunities provide practical strategies that help schools create safe, supportive environments where every student can thrive.
Comprehensive School Safety Planning: Prevention Through Recovery
This one-day PREPaRE workshop is for educators, school mental health professionals, safety and security personnel, and administrators. (Free to AIU member districts.)
When: Thursday, Sept. 24, 2026 from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Youth Mental Health First Aid
This 8-hour certification course teaches how to recognize and respond to signs of mental health or substance use challenges. (Free to AIU member districts.)
Full-day option: Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2026
Half-day option: Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2026 and Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2026
Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR)
Learn the warning signs of a suicide crisis and how to respond. (Free to AIU member districts.)

Sources of Strength Suicide Prevention
Available by request, this evidence?based prevention program that strengthens school culture by building resilience, connection, and help?seeking behaviors. Through Adult Advisor Training, staff learn how to mentor youth, model strengths?based language, and guide implementation. Peer Leader Training activates diverse students as positive influencers who lead campaigns promoting hope, help, and connection. Each school’s rollout can be individualized, allowing campaigns, training structures, and support to be tailored to its unique needs and priorities. (Fees may apply,)
