DESCRIPTION:See how digital fabrication can make engineering design a meaningful part of elementary and middle school classrooms. \n\n\n\n\nDescription \nNew to STEAM? \nLooking to add some new tools and experiences to your content area classroom? \nJoin us for a hands-on experience to learn how you can incorporate digital fabrication tools in your elementary and/or middle school classroom! \nThis workshop is designed specifically for those who want to incorporate designing prototypes in their classroom with tools like 3D printers\, laser cutters\, and simple cardboard cutters enhance student learning experiences. \nParticipants will leave with an understanding of how to use digital fabrication tools with their students and how they tie into all areas of the curriculum\, including the technology and engineering components of the STEELS standards. \n**This workshop will take place at the NEW Fluxspace Experience Center. \nIn addition to on-street parking\, limited free parking is available in a gravel lot across from the Fluxspace Experience Center. \nBackground | The mission of Fluxspace is to help educators\, schools\, and organizations experience the future of learning environments and understand the innovative programs\, products\, experiences\, and mindsets that should take place in them. \nWhat to Bring | A laptop or tablet\, if possible \nWho Should Attend | Grade-level/classroom teachers (elementary\, middle school)\, teachers new to STEAM\, anyone K-8 educator who is interested in learning about these concepts\, including the “T” and “E” in STEELS. \nLunch | Feel free to bring a lunch with you or to try one of the many restaurants within walking distance of Fluxspace. \nSpecial Location | (The NEW Fluxspace Location) Fluxspace Experience Center\, 831 W.
