  • No-Cost Mathematics Training and Technical Assistance

    The AIU Mathematics Academic Support team provides no-cost training and technical assistance at the AIU and onsite at schools. The methods that we use were developed based on research and effective practices in the delivery of mathematics education.

         Focus areas include:

         Effective instructional strategies in mathematics

         Concrete-Representational-Abstract (CRA) in five areas:

         •  Early numeracy

         Addition and subtraction

         Multiplication and division


         Algebra and integers*

         •  Acadience Math Assessment

         •  Grade Band Trainings: K-2; 3-5; and 6-8

         •  Formative assessment to improve student achievement

         •  Utilizing Diagnostic Assessment to Target Instruction for Students Struggling in Math*

    • Enhancing Math Fact Fluency
      January 5, 2022; 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.; Register by Dec. 29
      It is important in mathematics for students to have efficient and effective methods for solving various types of problems. In addition, we want our learners to be flexible thinkers. In this session, we will explore the Learning Theory Trajectory through the lens of mastering facts from Skill Acquisition to Fluency Building to Application.
