Itinerant Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
The Allegheny Intermediate Unit is currently seeking an Itinerant Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing for its Hearing Support Program. This is an Itinerant position within the Allegheny County. This Teacher is responsible for the planning and implementation of a program of instructional services provided to students in districts, non-public and charter schools, and approved private schools in order to meet the needs of students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Deaf Education required.
PA Certification in Hearing Impaired K - 12 required.
Highly Qualified status in Reading and/or English desirable.
Sign Language skills desirable.
Excellent organizational skills, initiative, and an ability to work with limited supervision.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Self-motivator, independent, cooperative, flexible, creative, and responsible.
Ability and experience working as a member of a team.
Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office Suite including Word, PowerPoint, Access, Excel and Outlook, and willingness to experiment and work with new technologies.
Valid PA driver's license and personal transporation required.
Ability to comply with the AIU Conduct Policy.
$41,435.00 (Bachelor's)/$42,435.00 (Master's);
