SUMMARY:The Dynamic Learning Maps in Action: Instructional Planning
DESCRIPTION:Please join the Allegheny Intermediate Unit’s Training and Consultation team for this HYBRID training series. \n\n\nThrough two in-person training days and two one-hour networking sessions\, this series moves use of the DLM from a PASA assessment score report into a practical tool for instruction and IEP development. Participants will use student specific data alongside the DLM Essential Elements\, Linkage Levels\, and Mini-Maps to identify starting points for instruction\, build learning progressions\, and design meaningful goals\, objectives\, unit and lesson plans aligned to current performance. \nDay 1 focuses on interpreting prior year PASA DLM results into instructional entry points\, connecting Essential Elements across grade levels\, and building unit and lesson plans using high leverage precursor skills. Participants will also be introduced to the updated Science Essential Elements. \nDay 2 builds on implementation experience and shifts into refining IEP Present Level of Academic & Function Performance (PLAAFP) statements\, developing measurable annual goals and short-term objectives\, and using DLM linkage levels to strengthen alignment between assessment data\, instruction\, and IEP development. \nDuring both days\, dedicated workshop time allows for both independent work time and collaborative problem solving to ensure instruction is grounded in meaningful\, accessible learning progressions. \nDay 1: The DLM In Action: Instructional Planning\n\n\nDate: September 29\, 2026 \nTime: 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM \nLocation: McAuliffe Room\, Allegheny Intermediate Unit\, 475 East Waterfront Drive\, Homestead\, PA 15120 \n\n\nLearn more and Register

SUMMARY:Prevention Plus Instruction: The Formula for Behavior Change
DESCRIPTION:Please join the Allegheny Intermediate Unit’s Training and Consultation team for this IN-PERSON training. \nEffective behavior support requires more than responding after a problem occurs. It requires understanding why behavior happens and intentionally designing conditions that promote student success. Teachers will learn to create environments that support learners’ diverse needs in order to prevent or reduce the likelihood of interfering behaviors occurring. Using a functional lens\, teachers will identify patterns related to stressors\, unmet needs\, and skill deficits that contribute to behavior. Additionally\, time will be spent on learning how to select and teach replacement behaviors that are efficient\, serve the same function as the interfering behavior\, fit the context of the environment\, and are socially appropriate. \nDate: October 1\, 2026 \nTime: 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM \nLocation: Flexible Instruction Room\, Allegheny Intermediate Unit\, 475 East Waterfront Drive\, Homestead\, PA 15120 \nLearn more and Register
