DESCRIPTION:Please join the Allegheny Intermediate Unit’s Training and Consultation team for this VIRTUAL training series.\n\n\nDesigned for experienced transition coordinators\, administrators\, and related service providers; this advanced professional learning series is intentionally crafted for professionals with a decade or more of experience supporting transition-age youth. Moving beyond foundational compliance\, this series challenges participants to elevate their practice toward systems-level leadership\, sustainability\, and measurable impact on student outcomes. \nThrough a sequence of seven\, one-hour synchronous sessions\, participants will deepen their expertise in designing\, implementing\, and sustaining high-quality transition programming that is both compliant and meaningfully student-centered. The series begins by reframing transition work from a compliance-driven task to a systems-level responsibility\, emphasizing the development of cohesive\, district-wide structures that support consistent and effective transition practices. \nParticipants will engage in critical analysis of data sources\, including Indicator 13 and postsecondary outcomes data (MP4S)\, to evaluate program effectiveness and drive continuous improvement efforts. The series further explores the essential role of interagency collaboration\, equipping leaders with strategies to build and sustain partnerships with vocational rehabilitation\, workforce systems\, adult service providers\, and community organizations. Emphasis is placed on shared accountability and the development of coordinated systems that extend beyond school-based services. \nRecognizing the importance of building internal capacity\, participants will strengthen their ability to coach and support staff through effective adult learning strategies\, feedback cycles\, and professional development design. Attention is also given to establishing sustainable structures\, including policy alignment\, clearly defined roles such as the transition coordinator\, and the strategic use of funding and resources to ensure long-term impact. \nThe series culminates in actionable planning\, where participants develop or refine district and regional action plans aligned to identified needs\, priorities\, and continuous improvement goals. A dedicated session on interagency systems further deepens this work by focusing on sustainable collaboration across education\, county agencies\, and post-school service systems. Participants will examine formalized structures such as agreements\, referral pathways\, shared data practices\, and coordinated planning processes that ensure seamless transitions for students beyond graduation. \nThis series is designed not only to enhance individual expertise\, but to strengthen regional alignment and leadership capacity\, ensuring that transition systems are responsive\, collaborative\, and positioned to improve long-term outcomes for youth with disabilities.
