SUMMARY:TCCAC Annual Meeting Series: Fostering Success Beyond the IEP
DESCRIPTION:Pennsylvania’s transition community has a long-standing legacy of supporting youth and young adults in successfully navigating the transition from school to adult life. Since 1990\, Pennsylvania’s Local Transition Coordinating Councils (LTCCs) have played a critical role in fostering collaboration\, alignment\, and shared responsibility among stakeholders. \nFor the 2026–2027 school year\, the Transition Coordinating Council of Allegheny County (TCCAC) will host four full-day\, in-person meetings. These sessions are intentionally designed to provide dedicated time for high-quality professional learning\, cross-agency networking\, strategic coordination\, and the development of practical tools and resources. Each meeting will engage transition coordinators\, educators\, administrators\, families\, and agency partners in meaningful learning experiences focused on strengthening collaboration\, enhancing problem-solving\, and improving coordinated supports for transition-age youth with disabilities. \nThe series emphasizes building systems and practices that empower students to successfully navigate their individualized pathways toward graduation\, identify postsecondary outcomes and foster success beyond the IEP. From uncovering the wonders of the Phipps Conservatory to practicing scientific observation\, creative writing\, and nature connection\, there’s something for every curious mind! \nAt Eco Challenge\, you’ll discover how your class can join the Fairchild Challenge(opens in new tab)\, a fun\, free\, and standards-based program that lets students tackle real-world environmental issues through science\, art\, and innovation. Let’s grow a greener future—together! \nPlease note that there is a $10 per student fee for this event. \nRegistration is limited to 12 students (3 teams) per school due to event capacity. If you are interested in bringing additional students\, you can always send us an email closer to the event date to see if we have any additional space due to cancellations. \nChaperones must stay onsite for the entirety of ALL events and always be accessible to their students if needed\, as the AIU is not responsible for attendees.
