The school districts, Career and Technical Centers (CTCs) and Allegheny Intermediate Unit, all of which are located in Allegheny County, have established a leased lit fiber regional wide area telecommunications network that interconnects these organizations over high-speed broadband connections. These entities have joined together to form an E-rate consortium. The lead consortium member is Allegheny Intermediate Unit, and is also the issuing agent for this RFP on behalf of the members of the consortium.
