In this virtul program with Pittsburgh Center for Arts & Media Teaching Artist Kara Sambrick, students will explore the fundamentals of digital photography through lectures, assignments, and critiques. Working with DSLR cameras students will gain an understanding of the unique capabilities of digital photography. Topics such as composition, visual storytelling, lighting, and post-processing will be covered throughout the class.

Students may borrow/sign out a PCA&M digital camera if needed/desired. These may be picked up at PCA&M by appointment with Kara. Please know that PCA&M has a Covid-19 safety protocol in place in compliance with PA state guidelines. (The link is for our in-person classes but applies to all entering the building/using equipment.)
Please note, no registration fee is due for this program. Digital Photography is being provided as an Artist Residency Project, in partnership with the PA Council on the Arts.
