The Allegheny Intermediate Unit is currently seeking an RN Community Nurse (Service Coordinator of Physical Health) for its Early Head Start Program. The administrative position is responsible for monitoring and making sure that the Early Head Start program is staying in compliance and providing a high quality health, oral health and nutrition services that are linguistically appropriate and will support each child's growth and school readiness.
The position will provide oversight for the health tracking component of the Early Head Start program which includes dissemination of health information as required by EHS standards. Other duties consist of coordinating release information for medical data, reading, recovering, and interpreting pertinent information from patient's records to monitor health services provided throughout the entire program. This position requires supporting direct service staff in ensuring follow-up on critical health issues as well as baby check-up and immunization.
A Registered Nurse license is required; Supervisory experience is required, along with knowledge and experience in pediatric and prenatal care. Experience in consultation and training for staff and parents is also preferred. Medical records experience, electronic health record experience, and nursing experience with knowledge of pediatrics and medical terminology is required. Knowledge of public health/community nursing is required.
