Joseph Lucarelli, Chief Finance & Operations Officer

Joseph Lucarelli serves the Allegheny Intermediate Unit (AIU) as Chief Finance and Operations Officer.  He is responsible for providing executive leadership and strategic guidance to the administrative, financial and risk management operations of the organization, which comprises computing and technology services, facilities management, finance and business and human resources.

Before joining the AIU, Mr. Lucarelli held management and executive positions in the private sector.  Most recently as the senior vice president for a multinational services firm, Mr. Lucarelli oversaw a variety of finance and accounting systems and functions.  He applied his leadership expertise to optimize operational processes of the firm that resulted in lower costs and improved overall performance.

Mr. Lucarelli holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Point Park University and a master’s degree in information systems from Robert Morris University.
