IDEA Pass-Thru Funds

IDEA Pass-Thru Funds

The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) is a federal law that governs how states and public agencies provide early intervention, special education, and related services to children with disabilities.  IDEA addresses the educational needs of children with disabilities from ages birth to 26 in cases that involve 13 specified categories of disability.

IDEA Part B provides funding to school districts and other agencies in an effort to supplement and/or increase the level of special education and related services.  These services would be provided to eligible students with disabilities ages 3 through 21 who are enrolled in special education programs.

Part B funds may be used for, but are not limited to, assistive technology, extended school year services, personnel training, and parent training.
