Joseph Lucarelli, MSIT

Chief Finance and Operations Officer


Joseph Lucarelli is the AIU’s Chief Finance and Operations Officer and is responsible for planning, leading, organizing, supervising and evaluating all of the business functions of the AIU to ensure fiscal responsibility and integrity.  A member of the AIU’s Executive Leadership Team, Mr. Lucarelli oversees fiscal operations, fiscal services, fiscal administration and joint purchasing.  As the Director of Finance and Business Operations, he provides leading-edge, cost-effective financial solutions to the AIU and its member school districts.

Before joining the AIU, Mr. Lucarelli held management and executive positions in the private sector.  Most recently as the senior vice president for a multinational services firm, Mr. Lucarelli oversaw a variety of finance and accounting systems and functions.  He applied his leadership expertise to realignment efforts that resulted in cost savings, and established operational audit plans to benchmark actual performance against established standards.

Mr. Lucarelli holds a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Point Park University and a master’s degree in Information Systems from Robert Morris University.
