Apply to Smart START 
In response to a nationwide shortage of substitute teachers, the Smart START program was designed to recruit, select and train persons who hold a Bachelor's degree, but are not certified teachers, to become emergency substitute teachers. Regionally the shortage of substitute teachers has become critical, and school districts in areas cannot provide an adequate number of substitute teachers for their students.
