To provide multiple opportunities for social interaction and exposure to other students with various types and degrees of hearing loss in order to build awareness, self-confidence and friendships.
Winter Party
On December 3, 2010, the AIU's Deaf and Hard of Hearing Support Program hosted a Winter Party for the students and their friends and families in the program. The students enjoyed pizza, snowflake crafts, games and gingerbread and snowman cookie decorating. A great time was had by all!

Harvest Party
On Friday, November 19, 2009, the AIU's Deaf and Hard of Hearing Support Program held a Harvest Party for students and their friends and families. After enjoying pizza and snacks, all the children created paper bag Thanksgiving turkeys, decorated pine cones and played games. A good time was had by all! Because hearing loss is a low incidence disability, these children are often the only students in their school who wear hearing aids. These events provide an opportunity for the students to get to know other children who have similar challenges.
