The ACCESS program is a means for school districts to gain partial reimbursement for health-related services for special education students who are eligible for Medicaid.

The AIU's implementation of the ACCESS program includes:

  • Assisting with the completion of an application packet, annual cost worksheet, and provider update forms.

  • Training service providers and keeping them informed of changes in the program.

  • Reviewing all billing forms for compliance with Medicaid regulations, verification for accuracy, and assisting with timely processing.

  • Obtaining medical authorization for services and maintaining ACCESS files for each student with all required documentation.

  • Serving as a source of information so school districts can receive maximum reimbursement for eligible services.

Services are provided on a contracted basis.
